What is the ride like from El Paso to Austin, Texas?
Are there interesting places to stop and eat and rest or is it all fairly boring?

Balmorhea State Park might be worth a stop if you want to swim. Fredericksburg might be worth a stop as well, and there's always Enchanted Rock, just north of Fredericksburg.
But yeah, largely long and boring.

Ditto exactly answer #1 - very long, very boring and very flat - until you get to the Austin area. An oasis in the middle of Texas!

Depends on what you're riding< G > It's a long trip. Probably about 8 or 9 hours straight thru by car.
