What is a decent hotel within walking distance from 6th st. in Austin for a 23rd bday weekend?

I am spending my 23rd bday weekend in Austin and want to be in walking distance from 6th street so that none of my friends have to drive anywhere both nights. Are there any moderately priced nice hotels nearby?

The Driskill is on 6th St., but pricey. You can often get a great deal at the Omni on priceline.com. There's a La Quinta close to the Capitol, which would be a bit of a hike to 6th Street, but not too bad. Good luck.

There is an Extend-a-Stay on west 6th street; about a $3 cab ride down to the heart of sixth street. It's very nice, and clean.

Double Tree is nice

Try expedia or travelocity or priceline to find a very cheap deal. You can get a 4 star for cheap. I do it for my mother all the time when she comes to Austin.

But you can check the Radison, Double Tree...They are very near 6th street. And nice.
