what is the best way for a 26 year old male to become a fire man or fire paramedic in Austin Texas?

Being a paramedic pays more than just being an EMT (at least in Chicago). Contact the local fire department and ask them. They would be a better source of information.

Join a volunteer fire department in your area and start taking some night courses in fire science. Check with local municipalities for openings, they will usually send you to a fire academy.
