i want to go to UT but i've heard that it's really hard to get in when you're out of state, and that they only take about 6% non-residents. I am ranked 7 out of a class of 806, have a 4.8 cumulative GPA in all AP and Honors classes, and got a 2070 on my first SAT. (600-reading, 670-math, 800-writing) i will be taking the SAT again to improve my score, but on the subject tests i got a 750 on math 1 and 720 on biology-e. i have pretty good extra curricular stuff, volunteer, and work experience. If anyone has any feedback, please share it! thanks!

You're right, it's really hard to get into UT when you're not from Texas. This is mostly because of the top ten percent rule, which requires UT to accept any student in Texas who is in the top 10% of their class (that's how I got in). However, you still have a shot, and all of your scores seem pretty good. I would definitely try to get in, but still apply to some other schools just in case.
Good luck, UT is an awesome school, I hope you get in! |
