Texas emissions test.. I will be moving to Austin, Texas?

One of my vehicles "93 Chevy RCSB has no catalytic converter. Do I need to pass emissions in Travis Co. or is there a way around this... The truck is tagged in Tennessee now, I would leave it that way, but Knoxville is a hell of a drive from Austin, just to get a sticker......

Vehicle must be registered to your address. It cannot be tagged in Tennesse if you are resident in Texas. If your vehicle came with a catalytic converter, it has to have one to pass the inspection, it is illegal to remove a converter, which many people have done by the way, and replace with a pipe. If it didn't come with a converter, it doesn't need one. Phone the dealer if you aren't sure, he can check the specs for your truck, but I am 95% sure it came from the factory with one.

Actually you can leave it registered in TN while living in TX, but under TX law, you have to be active duty Military with TN listed as your "State of residence."
