Take him out to eat and suprise him and invite some of his friends. You could also make him a birthday cake they always like that.
Good Luck

Picnic on Mt. Bonnell? Nice restaurant on the Lake Travis? Do you have a convertible automobile, picnic over looking any lake? Picnic by the bats? I always like the hill country and there's always music.

Well depending on what you want to do here are some ideas:
-Capital City Comedy Club is great! Different comedians all time- will leave you cracking up- check out their website.
-Z-Tejas- great place on the upper end of 6th Street- big outdoor patio with great food and drinks
-you could walk down 4th street or 6th St. and just do an appetizer hop (go in each place and just order one appt and a drink and then move on!)
-Saba on 4th is very swanky and dimly lit, great food and yummy mojitos!
-Cedar Street Bar is also on 4th- great outdoor and live music
-the Oasis has the best view of Lake Travis! Beautiful sunsets! They have live music and like 12 outdoor decks.
-Rio (mexican food place) is downtown and use to be the Real World Austin house- I've never been there- but I hear it's fun
-Sherlock's Pub is in North/ central Austin and is a great place for live music- especially 80's bands
good luck- there are tons of other places- these are just some of my favorites!

There's a fantastic Italian restaurant by Mt. Bonnell called Spiazo's. Or if you want to spend some more money get a room at the Hill Country Marriott, it's about 20 minutes east of Austin on TX-71.
