night- 6th street. Go to mt bonell with a date its real romantic, especially at sunset. as for things to do during the day, if its a nice day go to barton springs or go hike the green belt. Its a real nice experience. if your more of a shopper go shopping downtown. and go to local austin places for food: ice cream-amy's, chinese food-zen, breakfest- TACO SHACK.

As mentioned, Mt Bonnell. Sixth street bars, music and food.
Rent a kayak from Austin Outdoor Gear and Guidance. do Town lake (or whatever they call it these days), Lake Austin and Lake Travis. Do the caves in Round Rock and Natural Bridge Caverns down near San Antonio. I think another at San Marcos. The Alamo in San Antonio. Hamilton pool. See (but don't touch) the Bats coming out from under the bridge. The museums. The Capital building. Take the dog for a swim at Barton creek( if they still let you). Watch the plays at Barton Creek. |

6th street is the place to be on a friday or saturday night... you have to check out the alamo draft house.. it's a movie theater that serves food and alcohol!!!!
you can visit town lake, very pretty area.... we have a couple of cool malls, check out south congress, very original and cool shops down there. austin is the funnest most interesting city i have ever lived in.. i think you will have fun! |
