Default Need baby sitters in my area...Atlanta, GA very close to the airport.?

I am a single mom of 2 kids, 14 and 1. I am kinda feel like I am about to lose my mind. I have spent very little time away from my baby since she was born. I stayed home of the first 3 months with her. Now the only place I go is work and back. We do out outings when I am off. You know the park and shopping and whatnot but I need a break. My grandmother and my aunt watch her during the day while I am at work. They do this free of charge so I am not comfortable asking them to watch her on the weekends too. My 14 year old is visiting her dad for the summer and I need a sitter for my 1 year old. None of my friends have kids the babies this age. To be honest, none of my friends have offered to watch her. I need a sitter badly. If I don't get some me time I am going to EXPLODE!! Any ideas? I feeling kind of weird thinking about leaving my child with someone I don't know but I really need a break. Wait until my kid comes back form vacation? Try the sitter option? Please help.

I know what you mean about not being comfortable with just anyone. I am not comfortable just hiring off of Craigslist and hoping for the best, but a mom does need a little time off. Have you tried joining a mom's group in your area? You can search on Yahoo and MSN. Through those groups I have developed relationships with people that I trust. I do a weekly swap with another mom who also works full-time and who has a daughter the same age as my daughter. Once a week I take her daughter and once a week she takes mine. We only do two hour windows, but still...it gives me a chance to get some time to myself. Good luck!

i really recommend you DON'T find a baby sitter on line. Ask a trusted neighbor or someone like a friend of yours or family member. People off the Internet aren't always who they say they are. Hope you find one.
