First off, get the pregnancy confirmed. You can use a Home Pregnancy Test like EPT, but your best bet would be to go to the doctor to get a conclusive result. Once you've gotten it confirmed with your doctor, you'd be best off talking to them about whether or not it would be safe to travel...
My opinion, though (and I'm not a doctor or anything, so bear in mind this is just an opinion): China's a pretty safe country in terms of travel, you just need to make sure you take any common sense precautions: be careful with the foods that you eat, make sure you only drink bottled or well-boiled water, etc. Dress appropriately for the climate so you don't get sick. Your doctor will also be able to tell you about any health precautions you might have to take in anticipation of your trip.
In terms of your body - 6 weeks preg. & travelling may not be most ideal. Not because it's bad for your baby necessarily, but for a couple reasons: 1) especially if it's your first pregnancy, your doctor's going to want you nearby to do some tests and stuff. It depends on your health, conditions, etc. You'd just need to make sure, depending on the duration of your trip, that you wouldn't be pushing any of these tests out of their required window of completion. 2) You may not feel at your optimal best for travelling. I happen to be in my 8th week now and I feel like I could just spend the whole day in bed curled up under the covers. It's a chore just to get out of bed, get ready, and drive 45 minutes to come into work. Your body's probably going to feel worn out, you'll need more naps (and the jet lag factor won't help), you may feel naseous (and I grew up in Taiwan, so let me tell you from experience that some of those foodsmells may make you naseous even if you're NOT pregnant - like stinky tofu. Ugh! :-)). I've been told your second trimester is actually best if you want to travel somewhere (I'm actually planning a trip to India in my 6th month) - you supposedly feel less "ill" at that time. But I do understand that because this trip is for work, you may not be able to reschedule it.
Anyways, I know this is a lot of info, but I hope it's helped. Like I said, though - best course of action is definitely to check with your doctor and find out their advice for the trip.
