If it's just traveling (like your dad is coming to visit), the dog will need special papers (almost like a passport), plus has to be up to date on all the required shots. Even then there is a very good chance that the dog will have to spend time in a special facility while he's examined for any strange conditions. I know if the dog is transfered to one of those facilities it can be up to six months, which is a little silly for a one month visit.
If this is the case, I'd suggest leaving the dog in China. I know it can be a tough choice for a dog owner, but a month of seperation is better than six. ^_^''
If your father is moving here, then the dog will HAVE to go to one of those facilities.
Other than that...there may be special passes that you can get for show dogs, but if the dog isn't coming to the States for a show...
