Default Travel to Guangzhou, China?

I will be travelling to Guangzhou, China in April.
And will be travelling via Hong Kong. Is it better to take the bus from the Airport to Guangzhou or take the ferry from the airport to Humen,Dongguan, and travel to Guangzhou. Your suggestions will be hightly appreciated.

I recently took the same route. I took a high-speed ferry from Hong Kong to Panyu, and then a taxi from Panyu to Guangzhou (a bus would have been cheaper, but my wife wanted a taxi). A bus from Hong Kong to Dongguan then to Guangzhou is also possible, but is less confortable.

The fastest way is to take the plane....It will take you about 50 minutes. But it's a bit expensive.

There are direct buses heading for guangzhou in the airport, it costs about 4 hours.

And I think you can go by train.Take the bus to the luohu railway station, and than take the train to the Guangzhou East Railway Station. This way maybe more comfortalbe than by road, and if you arrive Hong Kong late at night ,that's the best choos.Because there is probably no buses then.
It will cost you 4 hours ,more or less..

I should remind you : there are so much swindlers and thieves in the bus station in Guangzhou. We always be told not to speak to a stranger.....So take care of yourself...
But Guangzhou is really a good place that was worthy to travel to.Have a good time........

I have travel from HK to GZ many times and I like to travel by train.
Its stops at louwu where the border is. You then can continue on train again. Cheap also. I would not do this during rush hours as you will see 30 thousand people running to get across the check point.

GL.

If you plan is to go to Guang zhou right after landing in Hk airport, Take the Bus directly. Straight forward, no more concern on finding your next connections. All coach companies operated in the airport are well managed The bus takes you to the border. A sticker given to you will help their agents on China side (girls in company uniform at the gate) to ID you and bring you to the connecting bus to GZ. 3 hours is very normal for whole trip, See website from HK airport for details.
Also a link to bus schedule from CTS, which is my personal recommendation. Their terminals in GZ are right at the 5 stars hotels, so you get your safety there! I travel a lot on this route.
Most buses operate from 7 am to 10pm. If you miss the last bus, trust me you don't want to cross the border, because the last train to GZ on the China side leaves before you cross the border in Lowu; and it's a bad idea to cross Huang gang border alone that late, where you are strange to that place. So better stay overnight in Hk.
FYI Ferry to Pan yu has been suspended, now is only up to Hu Men, and you have to scratch your head to find a reliable connection there to GZ.
If your trip has a pit stop in the city of HK, go take the KCR East line train to connect to GZ as people recommended here.
