Will I be able to use yahoo phone-out to call the U.S. from Internet cafes while traveling in China?

I will be traveling to China and want to use yahoo phone out to call home. If I bring my own headset, how likely is it that I will be able to make calls using yahoo phone-out from internet cafes in places like Beijing, Chengdu...even Lhasa?

You can definitely use yahoo phone-out in Beijing and Chengdu. But I'm not very sure if you can use it in Lhasa. I don't think the network condition in Lhasa is as good.

Yes you can. When we were in China last October, my wife used our yahoo call out (San Antonio number) to call not only her friends in the US (calls in San Antonio were considered local) but she was able to call her friends all over China.

You certainly can, according to Yahoo, if you can get a connection, then you can use Messenger/ voice anywhere in the world. I'm in Thailand now, and use it everday with no problems. Pretty cool, huh?
