What you need is a passport. You can get it at your nearest post office.

yes, you will need to get a visa to travel to mainland china. you can go to hong kong for up to 30 days without a visa, and you can go to taiwan for up to 15 days without a visa. anywhere else in china you will need to obtain a chinese visa before entering the country.

Yes, to enter mainland China you have to have a visa. To enter Hong Kong, Shanghai and Macau, a visa is not required because they are SAR zones, special economic zones. If you enter one of these "ports" and then try to enter mainland China you will require a visa, which can be obtained at the border. Usually not a problem. If you want to be sure. You can obtain a single entry visa at a local Chinese Consul or Embassy. If you are in Hong Kong many of the tour agencies can get you a visa within a day or less.

yes, you need a visa.........expert visa.com can help you. takes about a week. get a multiple visa if you plan to enter and exit more than one time on your visit. leave your american dollars at home and use an atm card. you can withdraw up to 5000 yuan daily. just let your credit union or bank know that you are traveling to china so that they aren't surprised at your withdrawals. either be with someone who can speak chinese or be with a travel club, because you are in their country not yours and most chinese people don't speak english. you will not be sorry for visiting china, it is a wonderful country with many wonderful people

Yes, you do need a visa.

For US citizens, you need to have a passport: Valid 6 or more months with clear visa page.
1 Peoples Republic of China Visa Application
1 Color Photograph 2" x 2" with white or light background
1 Detailed business letter or invitation from company in China (business purposes only)

You can obtain a single, double or 6 month multiple entry visa. To obtain a one year multiple entry visa you must have a prior China visa in your current passport to be considered for one.

The China Embassy or Consulates will no longer accept visa applications by regular or express mail or any other delivery services (FedEx, DHL, UPS,). Applications must be submitted in person, by an agent of the traveler or a visa service authorized to do business at the China Embassy and Consulates. You can get more info from this link: http://www.jiasdreamtours.com/tt_visa_em...

For single entry, $50; double entry is $75, multiple entry for 6 months is: $100.

The regular processing time is 4 working days. For express service, additional fees of $30 for 1 working day processing, and $20 for 2-3 working days processing will be charged.

To enter China, you definitely need a L tourist visa that you can obtain from your local Chinese consulate. You need to send your application, valid passport, 2 passport-size photos, and the fee which varies depending on the duration of the visa and the number of entries (it's slightly more expensive for US citizens than for others!). Check the link below for more information.
