China is a large country to travel. Unless you tell specifically where you wish to travel to people may not offer specific suggestions.

Anyway these are some links that you could explore. They will be really useful

A tourist should not break any laws. I have visited China several times and have never had any problems.
Take toilet paper it is not available in many restrooms.
Drink only bottled water or hot tea.
Do not drink water from a public fountain.
If you are staying a few weeks you should decide what you want to see and visit.
The country is very large and there are many wonderful things to see.
You will need to work out your schedule before going.
With a phrase book and a few words you can get around. There are always people who can speak a little English, and I have found them to be very friendly and helpful.

June is a high season. If you really want to go, you can go to Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. Then, take a Yangtze River cruise.
