where are the best places to go backpacking in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia? interesting places not neccessarily the usual tourist places

Bangkok is a must as only place of the 3 i've been to but if i was you i'd consider flying to there (most likely the cheapest option anyway) then travelling overland to cambodia, vietnam & laos also depending on time. Travel will be really cheap this way & maybe even explore more areas in Thailand like Phucket etc.
