What are the best ways for a group of 4 girls to raise money or get funded to travel to a conference in China?

I live in Alexandria-Egypt, me and 3 of my friends are working on an environmental project (reusing materials) and we need to know what are the best ways to earn money to travel to China- Beijing in August 2008 to attend the Global Environmental Youth Convention. Is there any organisation or company that can fund our travelling fees, or what can we do??
p.s. a round ticket from Egypt to China costs about 4000 Egyptian Pounds (about 800 $ ).

try big companies for sponsorship your area.

maybe a garage sale, maybe do a car wash (here in california you see it a lot).

any woman can make lots money especially if she is atttractive, just use what they have , to earn money for travel and for cars , house or anything else

Teach yoga classes to teachers, kids and disabled adults! They can pay you a fee or donate to your cause

If you are old enough try to get a job. If you are too young to get a job, then have your parents pay-thats what parents are for!

Oh dear God I want to make a joke out of this...

Seriously though, your best bet would be to find a company to sponsor you or perhaps if you are a graduate student you might find funding through the student senate. Otherwise your only option is to get a job and work till you save up enough.

Otherwise you could take the joking option seriously and perhaps earn the money in a single evening of "work"

What if the four of you together made baked goods cookies, pies etc and sold them in your community (explaining to your neighbors that you are raising money for this convention).

garage selles-getting a job selling stuff you will not need you can bake or candy sell but be very careful tho

I would try to go to companies who are trying to promote animage of environmental conciousness. I would also have a plan, something in writing, about how you can help promote that companies sponsorship. Some suggestions

1)contact your local newspaper to see if you land a sponsor would there be someone willing to cover it as a special interest story.
2)If the company will provide the shirts you could wear them to the event. I would try something thought provoking on the shirt like "Egypt air lines re-used me" Obviously replace egypt air lines with whatever company you end up with
