Husband and I are traveling to Asia - Philippines and Hongkong next month and Id like to know what you think is the best airline or your best airline experience. We have only flown Northwest in the past and though it wasnt horrible, we are wondering if there is a better alternative. Thanks!

Flew from Hong Kong to Manila onceon Cebu Pacific and thought that was the most moemorable ride I ever had.
Everything was casual, the flight attendants had nicknames on and somewhere mid flight, they held a singing contest and gave out prizes to the passengers. |

Well, if you go through HK on your way to the Phils, Cathay Pacific is the best, in my opinion. Very friendly crew, interesting food and nice atmosphere. A word of warning, if you guys are large, their seats are tight. I am a big guy and just managed to squeeze in. Now from the US straight to the Phils, I really loved Philippine Airline. The food was great, the girl stewardesses were gorgeous and the seats are quite roomy, plus the flights are generally not full, so you may get a couple of seats to yourself so you can kick your legs up or even lay down. The passengers were wonderful took, Filipinos going home in a very good mood. Good luck.

The last time i went to the Philippines, i flew on Northwest Airlines & PAL. The food is great! filipino food for breakfast! my Dad ate my food because he loved it! LOL. He even ate my cookies, darn! But anyway, i am going to P.I again soon, i plan to fly First Class because the flight is too long, i don't want to be in between seats, crowded. My legs need the stretch.

I will tell you PAL and other local airlines are far more better because they have responsible Filipino crews. Unlike most airliners in the US where their stewardess just don't care, but busy selling liquor while the plane is in mid-air.
Going to Saigon with PAL, you'll be amused that Filipina stewardress were big, fat, mid-age ladies, but no fat-ass, sorry. They were so funny looking that you won't notice Saigon is already in view. The food? I really do not eat during travel while I can. I waited until I was in the city. |

Cathay Pacific...especially coming out of Hong Kong like others said...friendly staff, tv in every headrest, get your own pillow and blanket, best airline food I've ever had (99% of airline food is crap, but they served up like 3 course meals with desert that actually tasted really good). I think Eva Air is cheapest and Cathay is second in line...so for what you get its a great deal.
