I want to travel/move to Southeast Asia... help..?

I have had a desire to just quit work and life as I know it and head over to Southeast Asia and just bounce around and perhaps take up home. I am scared for the obvious reasons like running out of money and being poor and not being able to maintain life. I was just looking for perhaps some techniques on how to make this transition and maybe someone who has done what I am thinking about and wouldn't mind chatting with me a bit...

Sorry I have not yet made the move so I may not be the best help, but have travelled for a while over there, and researched moving over there, I would like to do the same thing, a great website to check out, where there are many likeminded people would be www.thaivisa.com. There you can read threads, and ask questions to other expats, pretty much get alll the information you need on the laws, and find out how to make the process work. Probably getting your TEFL would be a big plus, becuase then you would be able to find work as a teacher, though from what I understand it does not pay much. So its probably best to ensure you have plenty of money saved up for emergencies, and supplementing your income. I am speaking mainly of Thailand and am not sure of the rest of SE Asia.
