We are going mid-may to early june for two weeks. I am in HK already and wanted to book travel here as cheaper but not sure where to start... any hints on where and how to book (flights/rail/hotels) would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Jetstar fly direct from Hong Kong to Singapore 2 flights daily. Check out the great offer to other SEA cities as well.

Both of them are budget airlines in Singapore. Have tried both, cheap and good. Just use credit card to book online, no date restriction as you can book today and fly off tomorrow.

you can try star cruise...since you're already in hongkong...they have an office near tsimshatsui and you can book a 3 day cruise from hongkong-vietnam-shanghai
it's cheaper because you already have a place to stay in but the downside is you only get a few hours of each day to visit other places
upside is..it's loads of fun!!
