3,40 euros.

Direct trains run to Amsterdam Centraal Station ~every 15 mins 0443-2400 and every hour through the night 0043-0443. €3.40 one way/€6 return. Takes 15-25 mins. Tickets can be bought from the machines in the arrivals hall or on the ground floor of the Plaza, but NOT on the platforms. The code for the city centre on these machines is 1000.

Here you have all the information you need:

http://www.airwise.com/airports/europe/AMS/index.html
If you don´t see the information about transportation, click on the left column "Transportation from Amsterdam airport"

It works really well; there are vending machines when you arrive at the airport. You have the option of English and Dutch, so it must quite easy for an English speaker. Anyway, if you don´t have change, you can go to any ticket office to buy the tickets. You may want to buy the I Amsterdam Card, which is available for 24, 48 or 72 hours. You can buy it at the airport in the ticket offices; you get free transport in Amsterdam, including this train to Central Station. Here you have information about it:
http://www.transavia.com/tra/info.nsf/vwwebdocs/EN~iamsterdam_algemeen

This one is also useful:
http://www.amsterdamtourist.nl/en/home/good+to+know/I+amsterdam+Card.aspx
And a 3rd one:

http://www.gvb.nl/english/travellers/ticketsandfares/IAmsterdamcard.html

I must say it was really useful for us, both for transport and for entering the museums without having to queue!!
