It is about a 15 minute train ride. The bus seems quicker but I am not sure if that is just my imagination. I have never left my luggage at Central Station but I have left it at Schiphol a couple times. If you go right from where the trains are (facing into the airport) there is a luggage check and lockers down stairs. There are signs for it and you can find it on those little airport maps.

I got this little expert from this website:
http://www.let.uu.nl/LOT/GraduateProgram/LotSchools/Winterschool%202006/GenInfows06.html There is a train connection from Schiphol Airport to Central Station and vice versa. There are at least 6 trains per hour in the daytime, and there is an hourly service throughout the night. The journey takes 15 to 20 minutes (for timetables, see http://www.ns.nl). You can get a locker at Centraal Station, but it can get quite expensive. We had to check out of our hostel, but did not want to leave Amsterdam yet, so we rented a locker. The bigger the locker the more it costs. I think they charge daily. |
