If you want to meet local girls, don't look for them in Amsterdam. They are sick and tired of tourists. The small town girls love them though.
If your planning on going out in Amsterdam (which I recommend) so best chance would be other tourists. And they aren't bad either: Sweeds, Germans, Italians, hmmm

Go to the red light district and window shop

Agree, tourists are a dime a dozen in the big cities, a hint though is that the bars get started really late, stay at a hostel with an in house bar, the flying pig downtown (www.hostelworld.com) in Amsterdam is great, make some friends there then head out REAL late. Good Luck.
