Is 40 minutes enough time to make my connection flight at Amsterdam airport?

My flights were changed 2 Days ago and now instead of almost 3 hours I have 40 mins. I hear the chances of my luggage making it are not good!
I'm flying in from Glasgow, with KLM, then out to Bangkok with CI (China international)

You will make your connection if the terminals are close to each other. However, if you do not make your connection then they will just rebook you on the next flight. As for your luggage it is quite possible for it to make it on time.

I do not think that your luggage will make it. You might not make it either as you will need to go through immigration when you arrive. You should talk to the airline as it has cut your transfer time to below the recommended minimum amount. Ask them what they will do if you miss your flight. If convenient for you, ask them to change your departure flight to a later one.

Amsterdam airport is pretty easy to navigate and efficient and my luggage was fine with no difficulties. The only woe was they are very strict on secuirty and hand luggage i found out.

no you wont make it, amsterdam airport is run by drug induced imbeciles, you would be lucky to make your connection in the original 3 hours never mind 40 mins

in august i had 40 mins to conect to my flight in amsterdam i made it to cardiff but my luggage dint it was delivered 2 days later after filling forms at the airport

You should be okay as long as customs is on point. It is a really easy airport to get around. You should not have any trouble finding your way and people are helpful. However call your carrier and speak to them about your concerns.

Difficult to answer - maybe yes, maybe no. Is your connecting flight with the same airline or a partner airline? Talk to the ground hostess when checking in or cabin crew when in flight. Airlines can often arrange a quicker transfer from one gate to the the next one - they just have to know.
They sometimes also put special stickers on the luggage if the transfer time is short.
