Getting to Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol?

What's my best option for a family of four (two under 14) to get to Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre from Amsterdam Airport?
Train to centraal station seems to be an option but how far is the walk from the train station to the hotel?
Hotel shuttle (connexxion?) seems to be another option but cannot find out whether the hotel is en route.
Taxi is probably the easiest but there will be four suitecases and four people. I don't know if a normal taxi would be able to hold all the luggage.
In terms of cost and time, what's my best option?

The fastest and cheapest way is get an express train to Amsterdam Centrale (about 15mins) and then it's a five min walk to the hotel.

Just up the road is Coffee Connection the best coffee shop I know - they only sell coffee but they do the best lattes in the world.

From Schipol there is a shuttle/tram (can't remember) that takes you to the train station. From there you would take the train to Centraal. The distance from Centraal Station and Crown Plaza is very short. If your children are small you might want to take the tram, but if i remember right it goes farther than the hotel so you would have to back track a little. My best bet would be to walk though. Once you have exited Centraal go strait and you will end up on a large street with a tram line going down the middle. On the corner should be the Hotel Victoria. Keep going for maybe 5 minutes (max) and there will be revolving red doors, and there you are...

Edit: The comment above me reminded me... If you like chocolate, there is the BEST chocolate shop in the world about 10 to 15 minutes away from the Crown Plaza. They have every kind of chocolate from pepper to rasperry. :-) I can't for the life of me remeber what the name is though.

first of all ... ive been to literally hundred of cities and amsterdam is my favorite... ive been there 6 times.. so great choice! the best way to get from schiphol airport into the city is via central station. its only a few euros and the train ride is about 15 min. ask someone at a ticket window and they will sell you a ticket and even tell you which platform to take! once at central station.. one exit goes to the docks.. one exit goes to the city. the choices are obvious as soon as you exit , so you cant get confused. there are information kiosks there as well so its a double whammy.

a line of taxis are waiting outside the station but there is NO REASON to take a taxi because you are less than 1/4 mile from crowne plaza! if you dont turn.... the exits of the station go straight into two streets. one is damrak .. one is a little harder to pronounce.. its called Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal
this is the street you want ... so just take a right out of the station and a left onto Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. youll see crowne plaza.. simple as that!
