I'll be travelling to Amsterdam in the next few weeks and I can't seem to find any Halal restaurant over the internet other then Akbar Indian Restaurant... and I'm not a big fan of Indian cuisine... Anybody's got suggestions?
I'm travelling there with my family... I'm muslim but they are Christian... I just thought if I knew a few good Halal restaurants I could bring my family too, it would make things easier on me... but I can live with salad and water for a weeks... i guess :S |

I am not sure about the halal restaurants in amsterdam, but one word of caution. 90 % of the western cusines are haraam as they hve wine as the ingredients. hence not only meat but also breads,Cakes, pastries, fishes, egg & Veg. dishes all could be haraam. You will have to request the chef to prepare a food exclusively for you without wine. Its tough. best of luck.

Actually there are quite a number of Halal restaurants in Amsterdam and there is even a site where where they are listed. Unfortunately it is in Dutch only, but you can click each restaurant to get details including the price (and if you are stuck then please feel free to contact me) and a link to the website where they have one
http://www.halal-restaurants.nl/restaurants/amsterdam/ Enjoy your stay BTW - Amsterdam has a bad name but is actually a very lovely city with the majority of people very tolerant and kind |
