both are everywhere, get a city guide so you can find the cafe you want and the hotel. Both come in various grades. I would stay away from the red light district and any spots very close to centraal station. Very tourist oriented and the cafes are not good.

Any hotel in the city center is within walking distance to coffeeshops.
