whats a cheap but nice hotel in the heart of amsterdam that i can stay at for 20 days in august?

Love, love, love Amsterdam! I don't know how much cheap is but check out the websites below. It lists hotels, hostels, apartments, and B&B's. You might consider staying in a hostel for something inexpensive, but check them out first. Some are nice and some are not.

Go to a bookstore and pick up a copy of Lonely Planet or Let's Go and check out inexpensive hotels in Amsterdam. I stayed at an international hostel near the National Museum. Nice area right next to a large grassy park. It was secure and comfortable and cost about 20 - 22 Euros per night, which included breakfast, I think. I believe the name of the hostel was Vondelpark. There is more than one hostel in Amsterdam. This one was recommended to me by a Dutch student who had actually stayed there herself on a trip to Amsterdam.

I stayed at the Smit hotel. wasnt to bad. Near Hard Rock and not far from Red Light District
