Default Do you recommend using Ryan Air when traveling in Europe?

I have to go to London England and I was thinking of using RyanAir to visit cities like Parise, Rome, etc etc. Has anyone used RyanAir and if so, do you recommend it? Does anyone know a cheaper alternative to using RyanAir like another flight company or train?
Thanks so much.

I would advice you to check every flight on a site selling the cheapest tickets. You will find these sites by googling cheap ticket and the names of the towns you want to travel between.

With the current price situation the one company can be cheaper on the one day and the other company the next.
Also check which airports are used, as not all airports are convenient for all town.
I know that the cheap companies often use a Paris airport that is more than an hour away from town, by coach only, run just in time to meet your flights.

But these things also change all the time.

The bus is most likely cheaper than almost all flights, but will take a long time, often through the night, which is not convenient at all:

On shorter distances the train will be faster than flying, as any flight will take about 6 hour, that is including: Going to the airport, check in, security, be at the gate at least half an hour before the flight for boarding, the flight, taxiing back the to building, a long walk through the airport, passport check, waiting for you luggage, traveling to town.
You can travel from Paris to the Mediterranean in just over 4 hours by train, takes about 8 by car.
Paris to London will be about the same time by train as by plane, if you land on one of the main airports.

RyanAir does not go to capital cities, or if they do, it's not many, or it's at different airports somewhere.

For example, Prague is a capital city, and it does not go there, it goes to Brno, a city further from Prague.

EasyJet and SkyEurope are good. But then again, it can be at different airports, always check the airport codes on the Internet to see how far, etc..

EuroStar trains are fast.

I love Ryan Air!! I use it all the time...I am going to Rome for 11 Euro on Monday...you can't beat that!! Many of the airlines that RyanAir uses are a bit of a drive away from the actually city listed on the website...but there are almost always shuttle buses of some sort into the main city. I would definitely recommend RyanAir...just don't expect any of the perks you are used to in the states...no drinks, no peanuts...not even assigned seats...they just open the doors and everyone goes to get a seat. London is a great place to use RyanAir from since the largest RyanAir airport is just outside London. Another good airline is www.skyscanner.com, it lists all the cheap fares from all the different airlines on any given day...or to any place. Go check out the websites...I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The website skyscanner.net is excellent for cheap travel in europe....and includes Ryanair, easyjet and a multitude of other cheap airlines out there.

I flew with Ryanair on several occasions. You are jammed in like sardines, but I have never had a problem with them EXCEPT the fact they often fly to out of the way airports. eg to fly to Verona the airport is in another town called Brescia. They do put on buses, which cost extra money....so keep that in mind when travelling with Ryan air in particular. Easyjet is a bit better for flying to main centres. I flew with bmi which was excellent really for a socalled cheap airline.
