Default Any suggestions on air travel with a 1 year old?

So I'm travevling with my 1 year old from San Diego to NY for Thanksgiving. We werent able to get her a ticket so she'll be on my lap. I dont have to worry about bringing any big items as our family back east has everything. My question is what is the easiest way to get through the airport and if there are any ideas on how to keep her entertained as I think we are stuck in a middle seat too.

Duct tape...just kidding.
Simple toys that don't make noise are good.

Take her favorite toys with you and her favorite food, she will probably take a nap and that should help.

Travel late at night so the baby will sleep. If you know the baby won't sleep, do not travel late at night, as the other passengers will want to sleep. Bring plenty of easy to eat foods that the baby likes. Bring some sweets that the baby loves for when he gets fussy. Bring lots of toys.

be sure to take a small amount of sugar in a plastic baggie so you can dip her pacifier into.....as long as your baby swallows her tiny ears won't hurt....as for the easiest way to travel, first see about travel restrictions at the airport such as the amount of liquid (for babies bottle) that you can carry on legally. etc. Remember you can buy liquids from the stewardess as long as its not a formula...

i bet that wont be fun lol
i would advise maybe a little dvd player and some movies she likes, cartoons probably, if not that maybe some small toys to keep her occupied things she likes, KEYS with keychains, maybe keep her up late the night before so she will sleep on the plane ride, im sure it wont take too terribly long, childrens tylenol will help her sleep too! good luck!

First; you shouldn't have to pay for a ticket for her I don't think. If you do it should be substancially cheaper . 2nd, You should bring everything she will need ;bottles, snacks, her fav. blankie, diapers, maybe earplugs for her ears, maybe something to calm her when her ears pop like something you can give her to help pain in ears. .. Tylenol Baby med.?.next, you can always ask someone to switch seats so you and them will be more comfy on the ride, your allowed to bring carseats if you'd like, and give her something to suck on!! That might help!! Good luck!! Happy traveling and Happy Thanksgiving!! Call or e-mail a travel agent , they are your best source. OR, Look up " Traveling by plane with infants on Ask Jeeves.com you will get alot of helpful sites!! Best of luck!!
