Yeah I think the key is to be prepared before you get there. Lots to do.
Bottom line: Careful preparation is vital in making the airplane ride a smoother one for you and your dog. Consider worst-case scenarios, such as your dog getting lost en route, and be sure you know all of the airline's requirements for your traveling dog. |

I ship my dogs via plane all the time. The cargo area is air cooled and heated. If they are going by themselves, they get food and water as well. All of my dogs have been fine with it. by the way.....it is against the airlines rules to give your dogs any type of medication to make them sleep through it. If they suspect you have done something like that, they will deny the flight. This can cause the animals to stop breathing or worse. They really do not need it anyway.
