my parents would like to go to their neices wedding but will not leave there dog. they live in MA, their neice is in CA. The only way they can get there is by plane. and the only way they will take the dog is to have her with them inside the plane. (not in the cargo area). they are not having any luck as most of the regulations say she is too big. she is a 17lb lhasa apso - any one know of an airline that will take a dog that size in the cabin? or any other ideas? (flying is their only option). if they cant bring the dog, then mom will go and dad will stay with the dog. I would gladly watch her but she is so attached to them she would not do well at all.

I am afraid your options are very limited. Unless you purchase a first class seat, there would be no room at all for the dog. She would have to go in the cargo area. Its temperature regulated and food and water are readily available.
Its no possible for dogs to fly in cabin unless you pay extra, or if your dog is a Service Animal. I would just call alternate airlines and see how they would take it. |

Your parents are smart. Putting a dog in the cargo belly of the plane is cruel. It's not pressurized, so the dog would suffer at great lengths. Maybe they can look into buying a seat for the dog. I've flown many miles and have never seen a dog on a plane like that.
It's nice that you would watch the dog for them. My dogs get very upset when I go away on vacation and leave them with "sitters", It took me a week to clear up the runs and get them healthy again. Good Luck |
