I have a 29 gallon fishtank and I have an airpump attached to a airtube that goes to one of those decorative clams that opens with the bubbles that are forced into it...basically, I'm not a very crafty person...lol...No matter the size of the airpump (I have a 20 gallon one on it now) it still is constantly opening and closing to the point where the bubbles are too strong for the fish in the tank - they are scared of it...
Soo... I want to somehow make the air that goes into it lessened, or else slow it somehow...any suggestions or ideas on how to make this happen?? Thanks!! |

Buy an adjuster valve.

Also get a check valve to prevent water from backing up, and flooding your house. http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444181 1424&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302030092&ASSORT MENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023693&bmUID=1180618248 406&itemNo=3&Ntt=valve&In=All&previousText=valve&N =2 |

Very simple and cheap, go to the pet store and get a valve fot the air supply line, you can adjust the amount of air that the clam recieves. You should also consider getting a one-way valve that will protect your tank from siphoning itself out if the line comes disconnected from the compressor. All together these parts should not exceed about $3. Very effective and cheap insurance for your pets !! I have this on all of my tanks, always have and always will !!
