Does anybody care for air travel safety??

I have seen "air crash investigations" on National Geographic, revealing horrible lethal accidents due to silly mistakes or faults by pilot, engineers or traffic controllers..I want to know is there an international mechanism authority to ensure that previous mistakes are not repeated, if so? whats that? is there a website? is there a source where geneal passanger register a complaint against carelessness of airlines?

all company's are as strong as the weakest link. i have been mechanic for 45 years and i've been to a lot of shops and the reputation of every shop is on all the people.. and same with the airlines.there are always mechanics who don't care,and they will kill people,and the airlines cant tell if he's had a fight with his wife,or had a bad hangover.but they should check a little closer,but there are so many people,and things to watch.. unless this nation gets to where we care about others than ourselves,so much,we are in trouble.and this is the problem.

the human element. we are not perfect so you cant expect perfection all you can do is trust.
