My friend ran into a special situation. Her State ID, I-20, Visa is about to expire at the end of this month and she is on her trip to another state with her parents who came here for her graduation. She hasn't got her EAD (Employment Authorization) card yet which is making the matter worse since she currently don't have any unexpired ID that she can show to the official at the airport while on a routine checking.
Do you guys think that the airport checking will be strict so as to notice the expiration date and cause trouble? She could've renewed her ID if she got EAD card thru USCIS. I think this year due to the large number of applications filed for H1B the processing of all other applications got delayed. Thank you all and I'll surely give her your regard Mymadsky. |

Yes they check dates. Ever since the majority of these 19 guys who either flew their hijacked planes into buildings or got taken down by some hero's on board were found to have expired visa's....you can be they check dates.
I had an expired drivers license on me, handed it too them and they pulled me out and wouldn't let me fly until I went back to my car out in the lot and got the current license. |

I can totally help you on this. I was on a business trip and lost my DL. Luckily my old license was in my briefcase. I called the airlines and they told me just to get there early. I went through a full security screen and was able to get to my flight.
Tell your friend congrats on her graduation. (the screen took an extra twenty minutes..but I also travel with a firearm) |
