I will be traveling to China around late September to early October. Will I be able to bring 1 or 2 bottles of wine (corked bottles and around 5% ethanol and about the average "normal" size of a wine bottle like the 'wild vines' brand bottle) on the plane with me in my carry-on luggage with all the new laws in place with restrictions on liquids that the FAA has? Thank you for your help

You will lose that wine at security. Pack it and check it or forget about bringing it.
The limit per container is 3 fluid ounces. I recently had a container of suncreen with about a half ounce left in it (but labeled 4 ounces) confiscated. You can bring as many 3 oz bottles of the same thing as will fit in a quart-sized ziplok type bag, however, so about 18 ounces (go figure). There is NO logic to this, so don't try to reason your way past it. The rules are similar in Asia and Europe, if not more restrictive. You can, however, buy something at duty-free once you are past security, but be careful if you are changing planes and need to go through security again at teh other end, because they will not let you through with your duty free liquids. |

im a flight attendant and the answer is no. 3.4oz of liquid bottle in a quart sized ziplock baggie is all you can bring in the cabin.... you can check it in your bag and thats it. they will confiscate it at security if you try to bring it in, and seeing your traveling international, you will received a very strict secondary screening at the checkpoit......just be warned, dont bring it.

You can bring wine only if you put it in your checked luggage.
You may take up to five liters of alcohol with alcohol content between 24% and 70% per person as checked luggage if it’s packaged in a sealable bottle or flask. Wine bottles exceed the amount of fluids permitted in your carry on baggage (as many 3 oz bottles as you can fit into one quart size, zip top baggie), so they must be checked. Liquids (like wine), gels, and aerosols purchased after completing security screening at the checkpoint may be carried aboard an aircraft. This includes duty-free shops as well as other vendors inside the security checkpoint. In accordance with applicable laws governing duty-free items, you are limited on the amount of items, particularly alcohol you can purchase. As long as you are not connecting in the USA and must go through security again, then you can take it. If you are connecting to another flight, any liquids, gels or aerosols purchased inside the secure boarding area at the "Duty Free pre-clearance airports" will not be allowed through a TSA screening checkpoint if the items are not within the allowed limits above. |
