Default Do you believe Air Travel is a thing of the past. Only for the wealthy like in the 60's.?

I can not see airlines being able to fly with this price of fuel, can you?
stl luna- 1960's when we had gas lines at the pumps. Very few people could afford to fly. Very few!!

They will just raise prices...

Did you know our airline fleets are some of the oldest in the sky? 12-13 years old...

Very inefficient.

If things keep going the way they are, it will be very difficult for the average person to be able to afford to travel by air and it will be only the wealthy that will be able to fly.

No, but the price of fuel will dictate people's planning for trips and such. The airlines will have to raise ticket prices to adjust for higher fuel costs but I don't think you will have to be 60 to afford to fly.

They'll just raise prices.

I dont think airlines will have anyproblems.

Now we hear that world renowned chefs will be making meals for first class passengers! You may be right that flying will be only for those who can afford it!

I still can't believe how cheap the prices are. I'm getting round trip tickets for around $250.00 these days. Even for flights 5 months from now.

People will continue to fly and airlines will continue to thrive because it's still the most efficient form of transportation over long distances.
