With the way our ears are shaped, the curves, wind flows with the curve of your face (and ears), hitting within and then passes over to the back of your head. This is usually more troublesome with people who have ears that tend to stick-out move or have a larger curve. It varies from person to person, but all together, we don't like the wind going at us. :-P
