Is there any improvements from air travel?

Since 9/11, i really think we should have good improvements that can stop hijackers attack again. I even watched the episode on "Explorer" "Outsmarting Terrorism", but i still don't have the answer.

Airport security has stepped up since 911. As anyone who has traveled well knows. I believe Homeland Security begins with each of us. To be aware of our surroundings. Look for suspicious behavior. It is sad to think that there maybe a terriost waiting to board your airline. Yes, some things have changed, We have to be at the airport two hours early to have enough time for security checks. Family members can no longer see you board your plane. We now take our shoes and belts off. I believe the airlines should take more responsibility when issuing tickets to just anyone. A system could be created to red flag suspected terriosts, via a computer system using law enforcement, vital statics bureau, and our government, perhaps by tying these departments together we could gain more arrests of would be acts of terriorsim. America is the land of the Free...But do we really have to keep giving educations to those that are willing to blow themselves up?

I think the improvements that have been made, have significantly improved air travel security, on the whole. A few examples of this are the federalization of airport security (thus resulting in a higher standard for screeners, better training, etc.), and through programs like the flying air marshalls, sealed cabin doors, and sealed cargo areas.

I don't think there is a catch-all answer, and improvements still need to be made. But the important thing is that things are improving.
