IF air gun shoots at 1000fps, how fast do real gun bullets travel?

that is just the particular airgun, which is powered by you either cocking the barrel, or using compressed air. real bullets vary. it depends on the size and weight of the bullet, as well as how much proplellent is used. some bullets, like the .220 swift, travel somewhere in the range of 4,000 feet a second, while most other rifle cartrideges range between 2,000 to 3,000 feet a second. pistol bullets usually stay under 1,000 fps

Bullets are made in different calibers with different weights (grains) and different powder loads so there is not one answer for this.
A 22LR will travel about 1250fps, a .17HMR will move at about 2550fps.

An air-rifle determines velocity by how much air pressure can be stored in the cylinder so it's a little different than bullets.

Shotgun slug moves at a slow speed of 1100-1350 feet per seconds and my shot moves at rates from 1600-2400 fps. I guess it depends on the profectile etc.

There are some big, fat handgun bullets that chug along at 850 fps, but you don't want to get in their way! Medium- and large-bore (40+ caliber) dangerous game rifles typically produce muzzle velocities of 2100-2400 fps. Some hot little varmint rifles exceed 4000 fps with 22 caliber bullets of 50 grains' weight or so.

Any where from subsonic speeds (speed of sound is about 1100 fps) up to over 4000 fps, the fastest commercially available round is the .204 Ruger which is advertised at 4225 fps, though depending on the gun and the round you might not get all of that.

to answer the question right above this: the .30-06 (depending on the load) gets anywhere from ~2500 fps to ~3500 fps

Pistols-usually 750-1500fps. Some special ones over 2000fps.

Shotgun slugs- 1100-1500fps. Some special ones up to 2000fps.

Shotgun shot loads(pellets) 1000-1500fps

Blackpowder firearms- 750-1800fps generally. Some special ones up to 2200fps.

Modern centrefire rifles(most rifles, hunting rifles, army rifles etc.) Usually over 2000fps and up to 4500fps.

Some airguns may shoot that fast, but most do not. Rifles bullets are generally twice, three or even four times faster depending on the caliber and barrel length.

Some revolver and automatic pistol loads are really slower. The standard .45 acp 230 grain FMJ bullet is rated at only something like 900 fps. The .38 Special wadcutter is only like 700 to 800 fps. These will kill, so be careful with anything discharged at these velocities.
