Default Do airlines allow an expired CA driver's license with an extension on it for air travel?

My driver's license expired. Had to take the written test to renew - didn't pass, but the license is extended two months. If I don't get a chance to retake the test before my flight, is the license still good to fly?

Yes, that would be sufficient. Another handy document is a copy of your birth certificate.

Don't worry so much. The airline wont even notice it is expired. You could probably use a 4 year expired license and the airline would not notice. All they look for is the name and the picture.

they don't care about expiration date.
Your name must match the boarding pass and they want a picture which look like you. And since it is extended for another 2 mos.. what is the big deal???

btw. written driving test is not that difficult !!!!!

You are required to have valid (not expired) government-issued ID to fly. If there is a dicument from the DMV that says your DL is extended, just take a copy with you to the airport and show it if asked about your apprently-expired DL.

Also consider simply getting a state ID card, which is usually issued at the same office as a driving license. You can have a state ID in addition to a driving license in most states..
