My sister has a red male beta fish and she's planning on moving here to North Carolina from California.
I need to know the following: Do the airlines charge for fish to travel in cargo? What kind of tank does she need to purchase for the beta? Betas are really resilient (I have one myself) and can survive mostly anything. She's had her Benjamin (thats the fishes name) since August of 2007 and he's been moved around a lot lately since she's going through a housing crisis, but he's still alive. Oh I mean in cabin, my bad. |

She should ask around different airlines to see what their policies are.
If she can't take the betta on the plane, she could mail it. Do some kind of overnight shipping.. trible bag the betta long with a heatpack and hopefully he'll arrive fine and dandy. What kind of tank. IMO.. anything 2gallons and up. 2 gallons b/c it's easier to get a good heater for a larger tank and bettas need their water to be 76-82F. Great place to learn more about bettas from experienced betta keepers... http://www.fishforums.net/category/5/Bettas/ |
