Global warming is not a lie, and neither are high oil prices. Air travel has only been cheap for 45 years and it will get more expensive again. That will mean that people will have to travel less or more slowly. Business will just have to accept the fact that sending some representative across a country is a waste of their time and resources when most of the negotiations could be done by telecommunications.
There are several facts that business has to face up to. So far it has been lying to itself and to the public, nothing new about the latter of course. |

Global warming is a fact. It is attitudes like those above that make it worse, as people do not realise they are digging their own grave, and we need to act fast and in large numbers if we are to slow it down. It is already too late to reverse it.
Air Travel will not be banned, as it is generating too much money for large corporations. But UK is already seeing an increase in train journeys worldwide as an alternative, and that trend will grow. People who are concerned about the green issues are also trying to make a diference by boycotting air travel, cutting down on overseas holidays and taking more holidays within UK. |

I believe in global warming especially when the weather starts acting really strange. In Cincinnati we were enjoying 60 degree weather on a January 1 or 2 years ago. This year we got blanketed by 14 inches of snow. Also the hurricanes are getting stronger as well during the summer months.
As for air travel being banned, I doubt it. Air travel is still the most efficient method of transportation if you are traveling long distances. Also air travel is the safest form of travel. If they banned air travel, can you imagine how many people would be out of the job? The economic effects would be huge. Airlines have to deal with high oil prices. Many times they pass that cost along to the customer. Right now Boeing has their 787 which will save 30% on fuel. Airbus is coming out with their A350 which should be more fuel efficient as well. So I see with high oil prices that airlines will pressure the airplane manufacturers to come out with aircraft that are more fuel efficient. |
