The travel industry as a whole is almost twice as large as the entire oil industry putting at 7.1Trillion dollars annually and growing betwen 10% to 15%. Number one reason it is growing so much is due to baby boomers beginning to retire - a world wide event - and the "boomers" like to travel..
Overall the outlook for the industry is very positive for possibly the next twenty years. I did my research before joining an Internet travel agency (having no personal agency experience before) and found out my personal travel is tax deductible and frequently I get better rates then the general public.
