Default Is the traveling call the same in the NBA as it is in college, high school and AAU?

Because of Michael Jordan a new rule also was invented where a player could take one extra step if he was in the process of shooting, passing, or driving to the hoop. This was because of how Jordan would do this quite often in his career without getting a traveling call.

Is a player in college, high school and AAU allowed that extra step?

Well, first, that Jordan thing isn't true.

It is just a myth that they did it for Jordan. (I know, I was an avid basketball fan in the 80s)

Yeah it was a myth. There was an article I read about that one but that was a long time ago. Several analyst already disproven it because they ran several slow motions of MJ's plays while driving to the basket and they found out that MJ's first step is just so fast that when you see it in real time, you will think it is travelling. Anyway yes, travelling is the same for all leagues unless it is street ball.
