It's probably not as expensive as traveling to a more advanced country like England or Japan, considering that most African countries' economies are not very strong at the present and probably get a significant amount of their GNP from tourism. However, South Africa is probably the most advanced country, besides Egypt, in Africa, and taking a trip there would probably cost you more than taking a trip to somewhere like Kenya.

Depends how you want to travel. But I say that Kenia is cheap but South Africa is more expensive.

From the USA, the plane fare is very high---------about $2,000.

The crime rate is about the worst in the world in South Africa. I do know alot of people go to Kenya on Safaris. Do have a planned itinerary and have people with you.
