can you travel by boat from UK to South Africa?

I want to trave l o South Africa from the UK and was wondering if this journey could be done by sea travel, if so how do I find out about it, and what are the costs involved? I know it will take a few weeks to get there. Anyone know real answers please let me know thanks!

im not 100% sure about how but i know you can.... but i think you have to ring up the country bourder control and let them know so if they do see your boat in the ocean then you wont be in to much trouble... well sorry not much help but maybe if you rang up our border control and asked them they would know. but its a deff that you can sail or ride in a private owned boat to another country.

I would imagine you can get berths on some container ships that travel the world. I would start there, get a list of shipping going from uk to S Africa when you want to go, and then contact the shipping companies involved.

It must be exhausting! In South Africa you will be dog-tired and will regret your decision!
